 New Cosmopolitan Ensemble is an acting company based in New York, founded by Ryan Hartley.

We are building a company of theater artists through ongoing training and workshops, toward a repertory of contemporary theatrical events. We are proud to include two resident playwrights and a resident design team.

New Cosmopolitan Ensemble strives to foreground the dialogic nature of humanity in our work - a mixture of new plays and revivals of plays that have fallen out of public consciousness, with a special interest in European works.

We make theater that values nuance and curiosity. 

We seek to entertain as much as ask difficult questions. 

We invite our audiences to engage with theater on a deep level.
